Current Positions Available
- Positively communicate with parents regarding children and their progression.
- Meet and work collaboratively with the Centre Director & staff to plan and implement educational activities that align with the Play and Exploration Program Guide
- Ensure a safe, nurturing, and caring play environment
- Build strong family connections
- Assisting the Centre Director in Training new staff members – ensuring that all staff are fully trained in their responsibilities and the policies of our program.
- Obtain knowledge of licensing and Ministry of Education regulations
- Conflict resolution- successful mediation of any conflicts that may arise between children at the daycare or relationships between educators and/or families
- Work with the Centre Director to advocate for the needs of the Staff and Centre
Roles and Responsibilities
- Reporting to the Director, the cook is responsible for:
- Creating nutritious menus for at least two weeks in advance and post them for parents and in the kitchen area
- Keep work areas clean and orderly
- Serve meals regularly and promptly
- Follow the Canada Food Guide
- Follow rotating menus and make changes with the Director
- Do all the purchasing (food, supplies, etc.)
- Keep inventory current and rotate all stock
- Help Daycare in various capacities as the need arises (answer phones, supervising children etc.)
- Housekeeping tasks in the kitchen area
Requirements
- Food Safe Certification (required)
- Recent criminal record check including a vulnerable sector check (required)
- First AID/CPR (asset)
- Successful candidate will be asked to complete certification upon hiring if not already obtained (cost of certification will be paid by Little Prairie Daycare ).
- Proven ability to work closely with other team members
- Must be legally entitled to work in Canada with a valid drivers license
Daycare Hours of Operation: M-F: 7:30am – 5:30pm
Wage: $16-$18/hr Based on Training and Experience
